Suoerfecta Sunday near the Surf

Another fantastic Superfecta Sunday and we take in a nice little sprint near the San Diego Turf.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 7 {6 1/2 Furlonngs~3 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A reduced field of eight will take to the dirt in this featured sprint race. There is plenty of speed to create a solid pace. Speed numbers are fairly close which should make for a competitive race. Our task is to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.

#3 Glacken Too (M. Garcia / D'Amato) should show improvement as he drops a bit in class. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers and two rugged workouts. He does hold the highest speed number at the distance. This lad has the tactical speed to stay in the race. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#8 Jazzy Times (Elliott / Baffert) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superb workouts. He is 100% in the money fro three career starts. This guy should be part of the front running pack.

#10 Pulmarack (Gonzalez / Hollendorfer) should contend with the third highest speed number, a three race progression, and three super fine peaking workouts. He should benefit from a contested pace as he takes up a tracking position.

#1 Rocket Fuel (Maldonado / Headley) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four explosive workouts. He also holds the highest speed number over the dirt. Watch him be forwardly placed looking to shoot through.

A Saratoga Sprint for Stakes Saturday

Taking a look up at the "Spa" on this Stakes Saturday. Feeling a bit sprinty.

Saratoga Race 9 {Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap~G1~6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A magnificent field of eight will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is a plethora of speed which should make for a fantastic sprint to the finish. Speed numbers are very close as all but one have hit the triple digit threshold. It should be an exciting speedfest.

#5 Holy Boss (J. Velazquez / Asmussen) might be able to pull this one off with the third highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This lad loves the Saratoga track having hit the board twice in two career efforts. A son of Street Boss, he should be forwardly placed near the pace setter.

#4 A. P. Indian (Bravo / Delacour) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer sprint, a two race progression, and two sensational bullet workouts. This guy comes into it with two wins in a row. A son of Indian Charlie, he is another that should be forwardly placed.

#6 Chubilicious (Gallardo / Navarro) will contend with the highest (tie) last out speed number and two credible bullet workouts. He might benefit from a frothy pace as he should be near the pace positioned nicely. This gelded son of Hey Chub is a terrific 100% in the money from ten starts at this distance.

A Surfy Turfy Superfecta Sunday

Another great Superfecta Sunday of racing all across North America. Today we take in the last race on the Del Mar card.

Del Mar Race 10 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Claiming}

A superlative field of twelve will hit the Turf in this feature. There are a number of possibly forwardly placed types and one singular speedster coming from the out side post. Speed numbers top to bottom are only separated by ten points giving this race a extremely competitive feel. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#10 Tribal Tribute (T. Baze / D'Amato) looks to make another move forward with the third highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and three strong peaking workouts. This lad loves the distance and the Del Mar course. He should find a good spot close to the pace and launch for the wire. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#5 Opsec (M. Garcia / Ruis) should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. This guy holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance couple with an 80% in the money record at same. He should be with the crew near the pace ready to strike.

#11 Back to Bako (Pedroza / Lopez) should contend with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four supreme workouts. He should also be tracking the pace closely. This guy should run an much improved effort.

#1 Street Moxie (Bejarano / Palma) should also be in contention sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in four superb workouts. He is another that should be packed in tightly close to the pace setter. He notched a win at this distance in his only try.

Stakes Saturday near the Surf

On this Stakes Saturday we take in some ocean mist and watch a fabulous Turf race.

Del Mar Race 7 {San Clemente~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A great group of ten gals will hit the Turf in this annual affair. There is a sufficient amount of speed and forwardly placed types to get the pace rolling. Speed numbers are very, very close making for an extraordinarily competitive event. Any one of these young fillies could win this one. It should be one of the many exciting races on the day.

#10 Stays in Vegas (Solis / Hollendorfer) looks to have a slight edge with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This gal has three victories from three starts at this distance. This will be her first foray over the Del Mar Turf. A daughter of City Zip, she should be traveling close to the pace ready to spring forward.

On this Superfecta Sunday we peer in on the West Coast for a dazzling graded stakes race where the Turf meets the Surf.

An Indiana Stakes Saturday

We look in on a terrific Indiana Derby for our Stakes Saturday race.

A very good field of twelve will go to the gate in this superb graded stakes race. There is sufficient speed to carry the field through honest fractions. Speed figures are fairly close with the vast majority of this field in fine form. The field is comprised of four who were Triple Crown nominees. It should be an exciting late night race.

#12 Star Hill (Lanerie / Arnold) could take another step forward with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty workouts. He should be tracking and closing swiftly down the lane. This son of Elusive Quality is 75% in the money from eight starts.

Superfecta Sunday in Ohio

On this sunny Superfecta Sunday we look at a nice Turf battle near Cincinnati, Ohio.

Belterra Park Race 4 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Maiden Special Weight}

A solid field of eleven will saunter to the green in this early on the card Turf battle. It comes up light on speed with any one of these being sent by their connections in an attempt to win on the front end. Speed numbers are all over the charts making for a handicapping challenge. It should be a nice race on a relatively new Turf course. Our task is to weld together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.

#9 Mrs. A [IRE] (Fontenez / W. Ward) might have her way with these boys as she makes the surface switch from dirt to turf. This gal is a daughter of Galileo [IRE], as such, she should relish the Turf. She holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and two sharp peaking workouts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#2 Warrior Prince (McKee / Sharp) should challenge as he makes the change from dirt to Turf as well. His first two races were duds, but he drops down further in the Maiden Special Weight ranks. This guy has put in two hearty workouts. He could track the pace nicely as he stretches out an additional forty yards.

#8 Soul Allegience (Mayta / Baca) should contend as he continues to race along the edge of victory having been in the money six times from thirteen starts. He shares the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in two robust workouts. With some pace he should find himself in the money once again.

#5 Redneck Ransom (Murgia / Woodbury) should be in the mix with the highest last out speed number and a four race progression. He has succeeded over the Belterra course hitting the board in his only race over it. This lad is capable of tracking the pace and hitting the turn fluidly.

Stakes Saturday at Belmont Park

Off we go to witness what should be the first race of the Turf Triple Crown at beautiful Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Belmont Derby Invitational~G1~1 1/4 mile~inner TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A stellar group of thirteen will make their way onto to the Belmont green. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace at this classic distance. Speed numbers are super close making for an extremely competitive event. Three are shipping in from across the pond and could sweep the top three positions. The three Euro-shippers are the only ones that have grabbed this distance. It should be one of the most exciting races on this Stakes Saturday.

#13 Deauville [IRE] (Spencer / O'Brien) should have the edge coming out of a Group one over in Great Britain. He has already has hit the board in his only start at this distance. He is coming out of a longer route where he threw in a clunker. A brief thirty day freshening should make him ready. A son of Galileo [IRE],this lad should be fairly close to the pace seeking to pounce.

#10 Humphrey Bogart [IRE] should challenge coming out a longer route in his last race over in England. This lad is another that has hit the board at this distance. #7 Long Island Sound  (O'Donoghue / O'Brien) will contend with a couple of form-full last out races in Britain and Ireland. Still another that has hit the board at this distance. A great and talented field of thirteen will head to the Woodbine gate in this premiere Stakes race. There is an overabundance of speed which should produce a sizzling pace. A great Stakes Saturday across North America. We journey across the boarder to view a terrific graded Turf mile.

Furlong Friday along the Jersey Shore

A beautiful Furlong Friday as we head into the Independence Day Weekend. Today we take in a low level claimer along that magnificent track along the Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Beaten Claiming}

A solid group of seven will go to the gate in this first race on the card. There is a sufficient amount of forwardly placed types to maintain a decent pace. Speed numbers for most in this field are fairly close. It should be a fine race to kick off the long holiday weekend.

#5 Conquest Outlaw (Keiser / Pimental) might have the edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and a two race progression. He appears to be in good form and should be advantageously forwardly placed. This lad loves the Monmouth track and holds an overall 50% in the money record from twenty-two career starts.
