Superfecta Sunday at Beautiful Del Mar

 Today we venture off to the West Coast for a thrilling mile on the Turf with the Surf in the background at beautiful Del Mar.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 9 {Del Mar Mile~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of ten will go to the Turf in this annual competition. There is a plethora of speedsters and forwardly placed types to produce a sizzling pace. Speed figures are very close for these fellas. Only a couple have not traversed the Del Mar course. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be one of the best Turf races of the day.

#3 Galilean (Rispoli / Sadler) will try to make it three in a row as he tries his second Turf race. He holds the fourth highest (3-way tie) last out speed number at a longer Turf route and two strong workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to avoid any speed dual on the front end. A son of Uncle Mo, he is 90% in the money from ten career starts. This colt is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

$2 SHOW.

#10 Kiwi's Dream [AUS] (Gonzalez / Trujillo) should challenge with his speed and will be attempting to wire the field. He has hit the board in his last three races and has also produced the fourth last out speed number. Couple that with three hearty workouts and you have a recipe for a top effort. This gelded son of Sebring [AUS], is 78% in the money from fourteen career starts.

 #4 Mo Forza (Prat / P. Miller) comes off an extended layoff having posted the highest last out speed number and put in four significant peaking workouts. He should track the pace closely and spring into the straight-away. This colt loves the distance and the Del Mar course. Another son of Uncle Mo, he is 80% in the money from ten career starts.

#7 Royal Ship [BRZ] (M. Smith / Mandella) comes in from Brazil after racking up five wins in a row. This guy runs for terrific connections off the layoff and for the first North American start. This colt is the unknown factor in the race, but based on his work tab of strong stamina producing workouts he is ready to mount a grand challenge to these foes. A son of Midshipman, is his 100% in the money from seven career starts.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

Superfecta Sunday at Saratoga, Round Two

Another Superfecta Sunday swims in.  Today we take a look at a very competitive TURF allowance race at that elegant Summer place, Saratoga.

Saratoga Race 8 {1 1/16 mile~inner TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
An evenly talented group of ten ladies are expected to make the start in this Turf feature.  There is a limited amount of speedsters in this one, but a fine group of those that like to settle mid-pack.  A soundly competitive group will enhance the difficulty of plotting our 10 CENT Superfecta box.  It should be a fun one.

#6 Heart of Destiny (Prado / Baker) may have a slight edge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four powerful, peaking workouts.  This gal has a win over the Saratoga course and should put in a nice tracking run.

#1 Glamour N Glory (Dominguez / Fawkes) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two modest workouts.  She should close well with an honest pace ahead of her.

#3 Bourbonstreetgirl (Napravnik / Contessa) should surprise with the third highest speed number at the distance, a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two quality, peaking workouts.  She is our bronze horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 And Why Not (Rosario / Matz) surely will be in the hunt with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two efficient workouts.  She is another that could close swiftly.

Saratoga Race 11 {Four Star Dave~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great field of nine will make their way onto the Saratoga inner Turf course.  A good deal of speed will give this race an honest pace.

#3 Get Stormy (Castro / Bush) should be able to control the pace with a close-up forwardly placed run.  He holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route and has put in the best workout tab of three high octane workouts.  Additionally, he loves, loves, loves the Saratoga course.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.

#2 Wise Dan (J. Velazquez / Lopresti) will be fearsome challenger with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and three tenacious workouts.  He should press the pace and strike hard in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#1 Data Link (Solis / McGaughey) should also be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and three robust workouts.  He could be the beneficiary of a tepid pace.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Upgrade (Rosario / Nihei) will be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  He should be part of the forwardly placed group ready to make a good effort into the turn.

#7 Corporate Jungle (Castellano / C. Brown) will also enjoin the turf battle with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and four superb workouts.  He should track the pace and get a first jump on the pace setters.

10 CENT Superfecta

#3 Get Stormy / #2 Wise Dan / #1 Data Link / #8 Upgrade, #7 Corporate Jungle.

Del Mar Race 8 {La Jolla Handicap~G2~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year old~Stakes}
An interesting race will unfold with a tiny field of four.  Any one of these four talented horses are capable of winning.  It will be a speed laden turf romp which could open it up for the sole closer.

#1 Blingo (Smith / Shirreffs) might have a pace advantage as the others in here will be producing some afterburn with their speedy styles.  He will be stretching out in distance and has put in two endurance enhancing workouts.  Could surprise these guys.
$2 WIN / $2 SHOW.

All others in this field, #2 Old Time Hockey (Talamo / Shirreffs), #4 Chips All In (Gomez / Mullins), and #5 My Best Brother (M. Garcia / Canani) should be considered in this great race.

NO 10 CENT Superfecta
Small field precludes this one from having a 10 CENT Superfecta.
