Superfecta Sunday is OK

We roll into another Superfecta Sunday.  Can you believe this year is almost over?  Today we take a look at an extremely competitive race in good old Oklahoma.

Remmington Park Race 9 {Springboard Mile~1 mile~2 year olds~Stakes}
A significant field of twelve will run in this wonderful dirt mile.  Only five have gone this distance or longer; the rest will be stretching out.  There is so much speed in here that the pace could turn into a sizzle leaving those that like to come off the pace with clear advantage.  It appears to be a tremendous handicappers challenge to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.  Let's give it a crack.

#5 Smack Smack (Barton / Von Hemel) could have a slight advantage with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superlative peaking workouts.  This guy will be tracking the pace waiting to make his move into the stretch.  He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Guns Loaded (Berry / Autrey) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two snappy peaking workouts.  Expect him to track the pace closely and move swiftly out of the turn.  He appears to be a capable runner seeking to stretch out.

#9 Boji Moon (Thompson / Richard) could be the favorite coming off a graded route with a decent speed number.  His three superb workouts put him in nice form.  This guy should be forwardly placed patiently waiting to make his assault.

#8 Noble Cornerstone (Desormeaux / Ward) will be making his second career start with the highest last out speed number and one dashing workout.  His lone race earned him the win.  This guy is capable of the stretch out.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#5 Smack Smack  +  #12 Guns Loaded  +  #9 Boji Moon  +  #8 Noble Cornerstone.

Stakes Saturday in Hollywood

Once again we venture into the starry atmosphere of Hollywood Park to witness youngsters battle their way to the winners circle.

Betfair Hollywood Park Race 9 {Cash Call Futurity~G1~1 1/16 mile~2 year old~Stakes}
An exceptionally talented group of thirteen will go to the start in one of the great races of the Fall season.  There is simply not a lot of speed in here, but these lads are young and may adapt learnedly.  Speed numbers at the distance and over the surface are relatively comparable.  With great pedigrees coupled with the large field, this race could be the most exciting of the weekend.

#6 Shared Belief (Nakatani / Hollendorfer) could be the odds on favorite with the absolute highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four stellar workouts.  This son of Candy Ride [ARG] is primed for this race and could come out of it as one of the most talked about aspirants going into the Derby season.  He should be forwardly placed ready to strike when coaxed into action.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#3 Bond Holder (Gutierrez / O'Neill) should challenge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stamina producing workouts.  A son of the great Mineshaft, he should be setting up for a magnificent closing run.  This guy ranks second (tie) in terms of speed number at the distance.
$2 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#5 Tap It Rich (Smith / Baffert) will contend sharing the third highest last out speed number and three endurance workouts.  This son of Tapit should be tracking the pace closely ready to pounce going into the stretch.  He also shares the second highest speed number at the distance, though he has not yet raced over a synthetic surface.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Tamarando (Bejarano / Hollendorfer) should be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superb workouts. A son of Bertrando, he could be closing swftly.  He holds the highest speed number at the distance and is the most expierenced runner in the field with an 85% in the money record in seven starts.

#9 Karma King (Talamo / Dollase) could surprise with another notable improvement.  He has posted a couple of good last out speed numbers and is one of a number that are 100% in the money in all their starts; in his case three.  A son of Pure Prize, he should be on the front end seeking to hold on for a piece of the purse pie.

Once again Superfecta Sunday rolls up and we make our cyber journey to good old New Orleans to make a strong attempt.

Fair Grounds Race 8 {5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A field of ten talented gals will go to the grass for this allowance feature.  Isolated T-Storms are predicted, but hopefully none severe enough to keep this one off the Turf.  There is enough speed in here to keep the pace randy.  Let's try to stitch together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#7 Myriad (Jacinto / M. Scherer) looks like the one to beat with the second highest last out speed number off a longer sprint, a two race progression, and one steady workout.  She looks to track the pace and should get the pace to do so.

#5 Just Like Juliet (Mena / Glyshaw) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one sure workout.  She should find herself forwardly placed ready to strike in the stretch.  This filly is our Bronze horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Vuitton (S. Bridgmohan / Asmussen) will contend with the highest speed number at the distance, a couple of decent last out speed numbers, and two successful workouts.  She should bide her time near the front end ready to pounce.

#1 Deferred (Theriot / Cox) could surprise with an o.k. effort last out at a longer Turf sprint and one superb workout.  This filly will be making her third career start battling on the front end with enough to hold on for a piece of the purse pie.

A talented field of eleven 2 year olds will go to the gate in this annual race.  All are still showing improvement and anything could happen in this one.  It will make more a unique handicapping challenge for all.  There will be plenty of speed and if furious enough, could set up for one coming from close to or from off the pace.

#4 Carving (M. Garcia / Baffert) should be prominent with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four tenacious workouts.  He should be close to the pace setting up for a quick run into and through the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Fury Kapcori (Talamo / Hollendorfer) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four robust workouts.  He too will be close to the pace ready to swoop into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Violence (Castellano / Pletcher) has flown across country to make a stand on the West coast.  He should be in the mix with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  This guy should be pressing and ready to strike.

#10 Little Jerry (Gryder / Baltas) could surprise in his second career start.  He holds a decent first out speed number that matches with this crew and has put in three dominate peaking workouts.  Should the pace become heated this guy could close furiously.

Turfway Sunday

Closing out the horse racing weekend with a neat little synthetic tussle at that great little Kentucky track, Turfway Park.

Turfway Park Race 8 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
An equally matched group of eight gals will make the start in this synth-sprint.  Those with good runs over the surface may have a slight advantage.

#7 Hungry Tigress (McKee / Connelly) has an edge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one good workout.  She should close into this crowd well, especially if the pace goes off quick.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Fortune Play (R. Vazquez / Booker) will challenge with the highest last out speed number and a four race progression.  She has a couple stakes wins under her saddle cloth.  Lack of a posted work and making her tenth start of the year are a concern.

#2 Lou's Angel (Prescott / Kahles) will press along the front end trying to hold the trackers and closers.  She has a decent last out speed number off a longer sprint and two fabulous workouts.  She could find her way into the winners circle.
