Thank goodness it is Furlong Friday. Today we take in a nice little Turf sprint in the City of New Orleans.
Fair Grounds Race Course Race 2 {5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Claiming}
A good group of seven will go to the grass in this early on the card claimer. There is plenty of speed to move the field through fast fractions. Speed numbers are very close which should produce a highly competitive event. A great day of racing in New Orleans.
#1 Meritage Reserve (Torres / Thornbury) is coming down in distance with the highest speed number at this distance. He will be trying the Turf for the first time. His two terrific workouts will aid his tactical speed as he shoots for the wire.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#4 Sol d'Oro (Esquivel / Rodriuguez) could go off at the favorite with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two superb workouts. He should be forwardly placed ready to strike going into the stretch.
#7 What a Image (Bridgmohan / Asmussen) should contend with the third highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and two hearty workouts. He should be closing well into a speed laden pace.
#5 K C's Call (Eramia / Lovell) will be in the mix with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one peaking workout. He should be tracking the pace closely ready to roll.
10 CENT Superfecta
#1 Meritage Reserve / #4 Sol d'Oro / #7 What a Image / #5 K C's Call.
Thursday's Results
Gulfstream Park R9. Despite being washed off the Turf, our selection, Comet Sixty Two, won for win money of $2.30 and show money of $2.60.
Scratches reduced the field to five thereby negating our 10 CENT Superfecta effort.
Bankroll gets a bump to $5.66.
