 We look in on the "lucky last" at beautiful Santa Anita. A race that will be on the Turf.

Santa Anita Park Race 9 {1 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Allowance Optional Claiming}

A solid field of ten will go to the grass for this "lucky last".

The entire field has raced over the Turf and at the distance. Only one will try the Santa Anita Turf for the first time. Speed numbers are fairly close with eight hitting a triple digit speed fig within their last three. All have been well prepped for the race by virtue of good workouts with the last thirty days. It should be excellent race to cap off a great day of racing.

#8 Captain Choochies (Geroux / Papaprodromou) has repeated his last two speed figs earning the second highest last out speed numbers. Two hearty workouts add to his cause. This guy will show speed and could wire the field. He will be seeking his fifth win in a row. A son of Classic Empire, he is 57% in the money from nineteen starts.

#5 Uncle Happy (T. Baze / Powell) is another that has repeated his speed figs in his last two races. He comes in with the fourth highest last out speed number and three dynamite workouts. This lad should track the pace closely. He drops in class and distance to make a good challenge. A son of Runhappy, he is 57% in the money from fourteen starts.

#1 On the Whim (Pereira / Pederson) comes in with the highest last out speed number and four supreme peaking workouts. He has improved his speed figs in his last three races. Look for him to be in the tracker pack. He has hit the board in all three races over the course. A son of Acclamation, he is 50% in the money from twelve starts.

#9 Amplitude (Berrrios / Sadler) drops in class and distance having last raced out at Baqueduct. He has posted three decent and consistent speed numbers in his last three. Three superb workouts will help his effort. He will be part of the tracker pack. A son of Uncle Mo, he is 42% in the money from seven starts.
