We open up our horse racing weekend with a good Turf race in sunny South Florida.
Gulfstream Park Race 9 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year olds~Optional Claiming}
A nice field of nine will venture onto the grass in this feature race. There is not a lot of speed in here, so it might be a great advantage for the lone speedster. All have comparable speed numbers over the surface which should lend itself to a highly competitive race.
#4 Dad'z Laugh (Lopez / Chaparro) is the speedster in this race and could wire the field. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route and has put in one strong workout. This guy also holds the highest speed number at the distance.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.
#5 Midnight Aria (Castellano / Gonzalez) could sit right off the leader and strike at the top of the stretch. He has the most versatile running style which should be used to superb benefit. This son of Midnight Lute will be stretching out from his last which earned him the second highest last out speed number. He is working a three race progression.
$1 SHOW.
#8 Saved the Best (Lezcano / Hennig) should be in the mix with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two solid workouts. He should find himself tracking the leaders ready to make his move.
$1 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#1 He's So Fine (Rosario / McPeek) could contend with the highest last out speed figure, a three race progression, and two superb peaking workouts. Should the pace pick up he could close into it very well.
