It's Sunday already and what a horse racing Turf weekend it has been. Today we venture to Louisville for a nice Turf event for the gals.
Churchill Downs Race 9 {1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
An excellent field of eleven will rush down the grass in this finale of the day at Churchill. It comes up a little light on speed. These gals are all closely matched which should make for a quality wagering race. Let's try to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#3 Strike Charmer (Landeros / D. Carroll) is coming off an extended layoff, but appears sharp from her workout tab of four superb, peaking works. She holds the second highest speed number at the distance, loves the Churchill Turf, and looks to improve from when last seen.
#4 Princess Mariah (Napravnik / Kenneally) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number which also happens to be the third highest speed number at the distance. She has put in two hearty workouts and has posted a win on the Churchill Turf. This gal could be forwardly placed to great advantage.
#8 Rocktique (Lanerie / Murphy) will be making her second North American start after racing in Ireland. She holds the highest last out speed number, appears to be working a three race progression, and has put in one solid workout. She is another that could benefit by being forwardly placed. She is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.
#7 Personal Diary (Mena / Oliver) will contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two stout workouts. She should be tracking the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch. She is one of five that has already gone this distance.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
#3 Strike Charmer + #4 Princess Mariah + #8 Rocktique + #7 Personal Diary.
