It's Derby week. Today we take a peek at a nice Turf sprint up in Elmont, New York.
Belmont Park Race 3 {6 furlongs~inner TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Allowance}
A splendid field of eight will tromp out to the grass in this early carded feature. There is enough speed to keep the pace active. Speed numbers all come up close. Three in here have not yet hit the grass in their career as yet. It should be a good race.
#5 Lady Kreesa (I. Ortiz / Donk) might have an edge going into this one with a lengthy layoff. She holds the third highest last out speed number, prior to the layoff, at a route and has put in four superb peaking workouts. She does hold the highest speed number over the surface. This gal should be forwardly placed ready to romp.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.
#9 Sweetpollypurebrd (J. Ortiz / Rodriguez) will be trying the turf for the first time, but she is quite capable at this distance securing two victories in two tries. This gal has put in four great workouts. in preparation. She is coming into this race after a moderate layoff.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#7 Missy Bay (Franco / Schettino) should challenge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number at a route, a three race progression, and two dynamic workouts. She should be tracking the pace ready to strike in the stretch.
#6 Tricky Zippy (Rose / Martin) could contend sharing the third highest last out speed number at a route and four sensational peaking workouts. She should be forwardly placed battling it out with the other speedsters. This gal will be hitting the green for the first time.
