Turfway Park Race 10 {Spiral Stakes~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}
A talented field of eleven will go to the gate in this Kentucky Derby prep race. There is sufficient speed to maintain a fluid pace. Speed figs are all fairly close, but most in here have not traveled over a synthetic surface preferring Turf instead. Those that have gone over the synth might have a bit of an advantage; however, usually horses racing over the Turf can make a smooth transition to synthetic surfaces. This is a handicappers dream race with a highly contentious field. It will be one of the better ones on the day.
#2 Soglio (McCarthy / Motion) could take another step forward coming in from the West coast. He holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and has put in three terrific workouts. This lad will be stretching out to this distance. A son of Scat Daddy, watch him track and close gallantly.
$2 WIN / $3 PLACE / $4 SHOW.
#12 En Hanse (Albarado / Maker) should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers, hitting in the board in both. He shows one dynamic workout and is 100% in the money over the Turfway track. A son of Hansen, he has the tactical speed to stay the course.
$2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#8 Kitten's Cat (L. Saez / Sharp) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out spee number and two solid workouts. He will be making the transition from Turf to synth holding an impressive 85% in the money record from seven starts. A son of Kitten's Joy, he should track the pace closely.
$2 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#9 Parlor (Castanon / Kenneally) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty workouts. This guy will be stretching out and trying the synthetic for the first time. A son of Lonhro [AUS], he will be closing dynamically heading for home.
