We begin out horse racing weekend with a nice Turf sprint at bountiful Belmont.
Belmont Park Race 8 {6 Furlongs~inner TURF~3 year-old~NY~Allowance}
A reduced field of seven will hit the grass in this New York Allowance race. There is enough speed to maintain a sound pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. This should be a very exciting race.
#9 Shiraz (Carmouche / Maker) could best this field with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid workout. He also has the highest speed number at the distance. This guy should be close to the pace.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.
#4 Looking Ready (Castellano / Levine) will challenge coming out of a more competitive event prior to a modest layoff. He has done well over the Turf surface and has put in three hearty workouts. This lad should be the speed of the race.
#3 Outrageous Bet (Alvarado / Contessa) appears to be in good form with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer sprint. He has the second highest speed number at the distance coupled with an 80% in the money record from five starts. He should have some pace to run into.
#8 Forward Motion (Franco / L. Rice) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one good workout. He should be forwardly placed making his first Belmont start.
10 CENT Superfecta
#9 Shiraz / #4 Looking Ready / #3 Outrageous Bet, #8 Forward Motion / ALL.
