On this first Stakes Saturday of the year we take in a competitive Turf stakes race down in South Florida.
Gulfstream Park Race 9 {Ginger Brew Stakes~7 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}
A nice field of eleven will dart out onto the Florida grass in this annual affair. There is enough speed to keep the pace churning. Speed numbers reflect parity in this sassy field. All of these gals hope to make a nice improvement in the New Year. It should be one of the most exciting races on the day.
#3 Moral Reasoning (Castellano / C. Brown) will be moving up slightly in distance after hitting the board in her first two races. This gal has put in four solid workouts prepping for this event. A daughter of More Than Ready, should be tracking the pace ready to strike.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#6 Sunset Promise (J. Ortiz / Maker) will contend with the third highest last out speed number and three powerful workouts. She comes down from a slightly longer Turf route sporting a 72% in the money record from seven starts. A daughter of Broken Vow, she will be tracking the pace closely ready to spring.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.
#4 Abscond (I. Ortiz / Kenneally) is the one to beat with the highest last out speed number at a route and five superb peaking workouts. She is one of four who will be making their first run over the Florida Turf. This daughter of Blame, should be forwardly placed looking to get first jump on the leaders.

#10 Runway Dreamer (Bravo / J. Carroll) should be in contention having already won over the Gulfstream course. She holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and one sound workout. A daughter of Tonalist, she should be tracking the pace and make a run of it in the stretch.
