Stakes Saturday in Louisville

On this Stakes Saturday we look in on what should be an amazing Turf race down in Louisville, Kentucky.

Churchill Downs Race 11 {Louisville~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great crew of marathon Turfers will gate up in this annual contest. It comes up a little light on speed though there are a few that will be forwardly placed to drive the pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only three have not traveled this distance. It should be a terrific race.

#5 Arklow (Geroux / B. Cox) comes in off a modest layoff ready for battle. He shows the highest (tie) last out speed number and four sound workouts. This lad also holds the highest speed number at the distance while holding a 57% in the money record from seven runs at the same. A millionaire son of Arch, he should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#6 Tiz a Slam (Gaffalione / Attfield) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and four high octane peaking workouts. This guy holds the second highest speed number at the distance along with four wins from nine attempts. He could take the lead from the outset. A son of Tiznow, he has the highest amount of wins. at nine, among this crew.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#10 Fearsome [GB] (Graham / Murphy) comes in off a longer layoff with two last out in the money performances. His last race was at a longer distance and he has put in four strong workouts in the last thirty days, He has also recorded a win at this distance in his only effort at it. A son of Makfi [GB], he should be tracking the pace.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Admission Office (Leparoux / Lynch) will contend with the second highest last out speed number and two solid workouts. This lad loves the surface and the Churchill track. He is another that will be tracking the pace. A son of Point of Entry, he is 77% in the money from thirteen career starts.
