Belmont Derby Day

 We go long on the Turf for a fabulous Belmont Derby day.

A very strong field of ten will hit the grass in this annual event.

There is enough speed in the race to keep the pace churning. Only one has raced at this distance, though have gone farther. Speed figs are fairly close. About half the field have raced over the Belmont course. Two Euro-invaders have their sights on victory. It should be quite an exciting race.

#6 Silver Knott [GB] (Mullen / Appleby) appears up to the task with the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two strong workouts. He should be part of the tracking crew seeking to strike going into the stretch. This guy should relish the distance. A son of Lope de Vega [IRE], he is 75% in the money from eight starts.

#4 Webslinger (Castellano / M. Casse) shares the third highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. He will be part of the tracker crew. This gelding should enjoy the stretch-out. A son of Constitution, he is 77% in the money from nine starts.

#5 Farbridge (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) will stretch out to this distance as the third of the group of runners holding the third highest last out speed number. He has put in three solid workouts in the last thirty days. A son of English Channel, he is 100% in the money from four career starts.
