Grade Three Action Up North in Canada

 On this Stakes Saturday we take in another grade three Derby up in Canada.

Woodbine Race 9 {Ontario Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~All Weather~3 year-old~ONT~Graded Stakes}

A fabulous field of nine Ontario bred Colts, fillies, and geldings will compete in this featured Derby.

This race comes up pretty light on speed so expect a Euro-quickening coming into the stretch. Two fillies will compete against the boys, both are excellent over the Tapeta. Speed numbers are very close making this race extremely competitive. All, but one has raced over the Woodbine track. It could be one of the most exciting races on this Stakes Saturday

#8 Forever Dixie (P. Husbands / M. Casse) will give chase to the lads and could come away with the victory. Expect her to track the pace and switch gears coming into the stretch. She has improved her speed figs in each of her last three earning the highest last out speed number of the group. A daughter of Quality Road, she is 60% in the money from ten starts.

#6 Velocitor (Stein / K. Attard) is another with improving speed figs. He holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four hearty workouts. This gelding will be forwardly placed. He likes the surface, distance and Woodbine track. A son of Mor Spirit, he is 60% in the money from ten starts.

#7 Touch'n Ride (Kimura / Giliforte) is one of seven dropping in distance. He will be running this distance for the first time. This gelding can be expected to track and close into the pace. He shares the second highest last out speed number and three solid workouts. A son of versatile sire, Candy Ride [ARG], he is 75% in the money from four career starts.
