A Fast Turf Sprint for Stakes Saturday

 We go to that other wonderful City by the Bay for some excellent Turf sprint action for Stakes Saturday.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 8 {Lightning City Stakes~5 Furlongs~TURF~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A nice full field of twelve will hit the Turf in this annual affair. Two also eligibles sit in wait with long morning line odds.

There is a plethora of speed in this race which should produce a scintillating pace. Speed figs are very close giving a chance to any of these gals to visit the winners circle. Seven will hit the Tampa Turf for the first time. Only three will attempt this sprint distance for the first time. All seem to be well prepped. It should be an excitng race.

#2 Sol Hope (I. Ortiz / S.A. Joseph) has exceptional records on the Turf, at the distance, and over the Tampa Turf. She will be tracking the crew and strike heading into the stretch. She holds the second highest (tie) at this distance and has put in two sharp workouts. A daughter of Soldat, she is 73% in the money from nineteen starts.

#9 Great Venezuela (L. Reyes / Barboza) has the tactical speed to settle in nicely into the pace. She is undefeated at the distance in three races. She holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a mile distance and two hearty workouts. This gal comes in from Gulfstream. A daughter of Neolithic, she is 100% in the money from nine starts.

#6 Admiral Hopper (Centeno / Nixon) is another that comes from Gulfstream off the synthetic. She holds the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and one superb workout. She is another that has the tactical speed to stay the pace. A daughter of Field Commission, she is 69% in the money from thirteen starts.

#7 Visby (A. Gallardo / Nixon) should track the pace closely. She holds the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and two fantastic workouts. She comes in from Laurel Park. A daughter of Midshipman, she is 66% in the money from nine starts.

#11 Risk Threshold [IRE] (Marin / C. Brown) is the deserved morning line favorite with the highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and four sound workouts. She will show speed battling on the front-end with the other speedsters. This gal comes in from Aqueduct. A daughter of Dubawi [IRE], she is 83% in the money from six starts.

#12 Beauty of the Sea (Raj. Maragh / Orseno) shares the third highest (tie) speed number at the distance. She has put in one solid workout in preparation. This girl will track the pace closely. A daughter of Bucchero, she is 64% in the money from fourteen starts.
