Happy New Year!! A wonderful start to a New Year as we look at the Tropical Derby at Calder Race Course. Happy Birthday to all the Thoroughbreds.
Calder Race 10 {Tropical Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~Turf~3 year olds~Stakes}
This will be a thrilling race with a number in her that have the ability to make it to the winners circle. It seems as though Lost Aptitude (Court / Romans) is the one to beat. With the best speed numbers across the board and a faulous race progression, he will pounce in the straight away. Gator Tiger (Cruz / Catanese) looks strong on the surface and at Calder. He will be rolling late. Some quality works coupled with a nice last out speed number, he is well prepared for this space. Our Champion (Coa / Braddy) shows a nice last out speed number and some great workouts. He too will be rolling late. Becky's Kitten (Trujillo / Ward) will be closing strongly in the hopes of hitting the wire first. Some solid workouts and a decent last out speed number for this group of three year olds show is well prepared for this race by top trainer, Wesley Ward. Cat Park (Leparoux / Motion) will also be in the mix here with the second best overall speed number on the turf. Let's play Calder Race Course.
