Two Places with Great Stakes Races

The first Saturday in January.  The first Saturday in May is only five months away.  Today we look at two stakes races from two different places.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Count Fleet Stakes~1 mile 70 yards~3 year olds }
A great race with some solid horses.  It appears that Ibboyee (Dominguez / Pletcher) is the one to beat.  With the highest speed numbers across the board, a couple of decent works, and the only horse to have run on the Aqueduct track. He will be ready.  Challengers include Laus Deo (Cohen / A. Dutrow) and Peppi Knows (Belmonte / Kreiser).  Laus Deo has a good last out speed number and a bullet workout coming into this race.  Peppi Knows has gone a longer distance with a decent last out speed number in his last race.  With two terrific works and 100% in the money, he could threaten.  Two horses that will be very competitive for a piece of the purse will be Turbo Speed (Cora / Houghton) and Our Commander (Napravnik / Capuano).  Both have decent last out speed numbers and two fine workouts.  Both are ready.  Let's play Aqueduct.

Life is Sweet (Gomez / Shirreffs) should win this one.  She has the highest overall speed number and is 100 % in the money at the distance.  She has also had four strong workouts before this race.  Cat By The Tale (Rosario / Drysdale) will be Life Is Sweets chief rival.  Cat By The Tale is also 100% in the money at the distance and over the Santa Anita track.  Three solid workouts make her very formidable.  Diamondrella(GB) (Solis / Stevens) will alos be a force to be reckoned with.  She has the second highest speed number last out and a peaking series of three workouts.  Hall of Fame Jockey, who is know a trainer, Gary Stevens will have her ready.  Lavender Sky (Ajtebi / Canani) will be the big surprise in this race.  She has the highest speed number at this distance and has put together four monster workouts in preparation.  She will be closing fast.  Let's play Santa Anita.
