Today we look at two extremely competitive races. One that will determine which horses begin their trek down the derby trail in earnest. Another with some of the best all weather track runners in the country. A wonderful Saturday is here to enjoy.
Tampa Bay Race 10 {Sam Davis~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
This is the first in a number of stakes races which will begin to determine which three year olds will be able to get into the Kentucky Derby. There are four in this race which are truly to shelf and the other three are improving. All have derby dreams. Schoolyard Dreams (C. Velasquez / Ryan) seems to be the best prepared for this race. He has solid speed numbers across the board, is 100% in the money at the distance and has put in three stellar workouts leading up to this. Rule (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will be the speed in this race. He has the highest speed numbers across the board, is 100% in the money over his five races he has run, and has put in four fabulous workouts. Uptowncharlybrown (Centeno / Seewald) looks very tough, but has not gone this distance as yet. He posted a solid last out speed number and a strong workout prepping for this race. Rounding out the fab four in this race is Middle of the Nite ( Prado / Albertrani). Another who has not yet gone this distance, but has a strong last out speed number and has posted three robust workouts. Let's give this Tampa Bay Downs derby trail race a shot.
