Turfday at Gulfstream

Thursday.  Should the weather hold, it will be a fine Turfday at Gulfstream Park.  We will look at a smart Maiden race at that beautiful facility.

Gulfstream Park Race 7 {1 mile~Turf~3 year old~fillies~Maiden Special Weight}
An exceptionally nice field of twelve will go to the gate with three talented fillies on the outside (also eligible) looking in.  There doesn't seem to be much speed, but there are two first time starters that may hold the key.  The pace could develop as a slow one.  Several in here are capable of winning.

#2 Celestial Kitten (Lezcano / Brown) holds a minor edge with the third highest last out speed number and four superb, peaking workouts.  She also has posted the highest speed number on the surface.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#1 Frontside (Trujillo / Pinchin) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four terrific workouts.  She holds the highest speed number at the distance.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#12 Race to Urga (Bravo / Clement) is a first time starter that looks good enough to find herself in the money with three strong, peaking workouts.  World class trainer, Christophe Clement has a good record with first timers.
$2 SHOW.

#4 Pampering (Maragh / J. Baker) should be in the mix with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.

#10 Gharbiah (Desormeaux / Albertrani) will also be in the hunt with an o.k. last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three stellar, peaking workouts.
