Saratoga Saturday

With so many summer stakes races around the country this weekend, we will take a look at the Jim Dandy at the Spa.

Saratoga Race 10 {Jim Dandy~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
Four triple crown nominees make their start in this race in addition to three vastly improving three year olds.  It will be a very fine race.  A very nice blend of running styles will make the race an exciting one to wager and watch.

#7 Alternation (Dominguez / Von Hemel) looks rested and strong with the fourth highest last out speed number, a six race progression (improvement in each of his six races), and four tremendous, peaking workouts.  He should close well.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#6 Stay Thirsty (Castellano / Pletcher) will challenge with the highest last out speed number over a longer route, a three race progression, and three superb workouts.  This guy loves the Saratoga course and should track the pace favorably.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#2 Dominus (J. Velazquez / Asmussen) will share front running duties and could hold off any challengers.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a spectacular nine race progression, and three robust, peaking workouts.  He could wire the field.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#5 Will's Wildcat (Albarado / Baker) could surprise sharing the highest speed number over a dirt surface and putting in two solid, peaking workouts.  He should also motor on the front end endeavoring to hold on for a piece of the purse pie.

10 CENT Superfecta

#7 Alternation / #6 Stay Thirsty / #2 Dominus / #5 Will's Wildcat.

Friday's Results
Del Mar R7.  Cougar II.  Our first pick, Times Gone By, finished 4th.  Our second pick, Dahoud [NZ], finished 2nd for show money of $3.20.  Superfecta went 1-6-4-5.
Bankroll gets a shave to $8.50.
