We close our horse racing weekend with look at a tremendous Turf race at beautiful Del Mar.
Del Mar Race 8 {San Clemente~G2~1 mile~Turf~3 year old Fillies~Stakes}
A stunning group of ten fillies will line up for this annual graded stakes race. There is not a lot of speed in the race, but should be at least three front running types that will share front end duties. None of these gals has ever raced at Del Mar. From that respect they are all on equal footing. This should be a smashing race to watch.
#5 Sarah's Secret (Flores / Walsh) will no doubt be the favorite in this race with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a four race progression (all wins), and three sensational workouts. All of these combine to give her quite an edge over this talented field.
$2 WIN.
#1 Up In Time [GB] (Bejarano / Callaghan) will challenge in a tracking position with the second highest last out speed number off a longer route, a three race progression, and four robust workouts. She should be ready to strike at the turn into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#8 Rosehill Dew [IRE] (Blanc / McAnally) looks well spotted for this race with the highest speed number at the distance, a 100% in the money record over three races at the distance, and three hearty workouts. If there is a solid pace, she should close well.
#2 Celestial Kitten (Rosario / Cecil) holds the third highest speed number at the distance, is coming off a longer route, and has put in two energetic, peaking workouts. She could surprise with a good closing finish.
