For the start of our horse racing weekend, we take in a delightful downhill Turf sprint in sunny Southern California.
Santa Anita Race 6 {6 1/2 furlongs~Downhill TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A great group of eight gals will make their way on the downhill Turf course in this allowance feature. There is enough speed to keep the pace honest. This is such a talented and likeable group that it is a bit tricky to see who might triumph.
#5 Llandudno (Talamo / Sadler) might have a slight edge should the pace become heated. She holds the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three tenacious workouts. This gal should be closing fast.
$2 SHOW.
#1 Madre Luna (Pedroza / Canani) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superb, peaking workouts. She enjoys the downhill course and should be tracking the pace to find her opening.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#6 Brilliant Melody (Leparoux / O'Neill) should contend with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and two stout workouts. She could easily be forwardly placed ready to romp. This gal has already run the downhill course which gives her the feel for the race.
#3 Heat Trap (Espinoza / Gaines) should be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number at a route and four endurance enhancing workouts. She should be able to position well from the leading group of runners.
10 CENT Superfecta
#5 Llandudno / #1 Madre Luna / #6 Brilliant Melody / #3 Heat Trap.
Last Superfecta Sunday (9/29) Results
Remington Park R9. Oklahoma Derby--G3. We succeeded at stringing together our 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket gathering up $23.75 in winnings. Superfecta went 4-6-2-7.
The overwhelming favorite, Departing, failed to fire on all cylinders. Consequently, our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Broadway Empire, won (1st) for show money of $75.00. That is not a misprint, horse racing fans. Our $5 show investment yielded that return.
Bankroll takes a giant leap to $123.08.
