We hang around for another fine race at Santa Anita on this Superfecta Sunday.
Santa Anita Park Race 8 {La Canada~G2~1 1/16 mile~4 year old~Fillies~Stakes}
It's the girls turn to strut their stuff in this seven horse graded stakes affair. There is some speed mixed with those that like to be forwardly placed. It is likely that the two morning line favorites Fiftyshadesofhay and Broken Sword will battle for the victory leaving the rest of the field to duke it out for a piece of the purse pie. All will be firing fresh as they have all add various lengths of layoffs prior to this race. Let's try to weave a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#4 Fiftyshadesofhay (Smith / Baffert) may turn the tables on Broken Sword since their last meeting. She holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stout workouts. This gal should be sitting right off the leader ready to pounce. She favors this distance with a 100% in the money record from seven starts.
#5 Broken Sword (Bejarano / Holendorfer) will challenge hoping to wire this field. She holds the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and has put in five strong workouts. This gal notched a victory at this distance earing a triple digit Beyer figure.
#3 Oscar Party (Talamo / Cassidy) could surprise with a couple of decent improving speed numbers, a two race progression, and four supreme workouts. She has done well at this distance showing a 100% in the money record in two starts at same. This gal is coming off a brief freshening and should be ready to fire. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.
#2 Ondine (M. Garcia / Baffert) could be in the hunt with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four superb workouts. She could find herself up close tracking the pace ready to strike in the lane. This gal is another that favors this distance having scored 100% in the money over three starts.
10 CENT Superfecta box ($2.40)
