Our horse racing weekend begins at wonderful Belmont Park. On this Thursday, we take a look at a pleasurable route race.
Belmont Park Race 8 {1 1/16 mile~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A pleasant group of nine will take to the Belmont dirt in this afternoon feature. There is enough forwardly placed types to keep a rollicking pace on. With respect to speed figs, the field is relatively close. It should be an interesting race.
#2 Sinistra (J. Velazquez / Grunsmark) looks to carry his form forward in this clash with the second highest last out speed number and two solid peaking workouts. He holds a very good in the money record of 87% at the distance. He could be forwardly placed ready to strike in the stretch.
$1 SHOW.
#5 Escapefromreality (Castellano / Schettino) is in good form as well and should be able to challenge. He holds the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two mighty bullet workouts. This lad can be expected to be the controlling speed of the race.
$1 SHOW.
#6 St. Moose (Rosario / Kenneally) is another in good form with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and three sound workouts. This guy should track the pace seeking to explode into the stretch. He loves the Belmont course.
$1 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#9 Transparent (I. Ortiz / McLaughlin) is coming off a long layoff not having raced since January at Meydan [UAE]. He shows some stellar speed figs and should present a pressing running style. This guy has put in three dynamite peaking workouts prepping for his return to Belmont.
