Another great Stakes Saturday unfolds with numerous stakes races across the nation. We take a look at a very competitive one at Belmont.
Belmont Park Race 8 {Sands Point~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}
A terrific group of nine gals will go to the green in this annual graded stakes race. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace. The speed numbers are very close which should make for a superlative wagering race.
#5 Sea Queen (Rosario / Clement) might have a slight edge sharing with four others the highest last out speed number, holding the highest speed number at the distance, and putting in one solid workout. This daughter of Lemon Drop Kid should be part of the forwardly placed herd. She is coming out of a grade one in which she placed fourth.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#3 Miss Besilu (Lezcano / Mott) should challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two athletic peaking workouts. She should be traveling close to the pace seeking to get first jump on the front runners. This daughter of Medaglia d'Oro has gone this distance over the dirt, but loves the Turf.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.
#10 Ball Dancing (Bravo / C. Brown) will making her first North American start after achieving success in France. She is coming off a fifth place finish at a much longer route. This gal has put in four stellar workouts prepping for this one. As a daughter of Exchange Rate, she should be sitting close to the pace ready to make her move.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#6 A Little Bit Sassy (Saez / Matz) should compete well as another with the highest last out speed number, a seven race progression, and four supreme workouts including two bullets. This daughter of More Than Ready, should be part of the front running crew seeking to finish mightily.
#9 Duff One (J. Ortiz / Contessa) should be in the hunt as still another with the highest last tout speed number, working a three race progression, and one excellent workout. This daughter of Harlan's Holiday has the most versatile running style which she will adapt positively to any pace scenario.
