Furlong Friday at Gulfstream

Our Horse Racing weekend gets a late start this week looking forward to a fun furlong Friday in warm Florida.

A hearty group of eight will go to the gate is this Turf sprint. All of these gals like to motor on or near the lead. It should be a heck of a speed fest. The speed numbers are nearly the same rendering a highly competitive event.

#7 Asia (R. Hernandez / Ward) looks to have the edge as she should be sitting right off the pace ready to charge around the turn. She holds the highest (tie) last out speed number in her only start and has put in three dynamite workouts. This gal has very chance to improve.

#5 Presto Magic (Lopez / Breen) will challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and one solid workout. She holds the highest speed number at the distance. Look for her to sit right off the pace ready to strike.

#3 Katie's Kiss (Valdivia / Fawkes) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. She should be forwardly placed seeking position to run through the pack on the front end.

#4 Scuba Sue (G. Saez / DiMauro) shares the highest last out speed number at a longer sprint. She is working a two race progression and has put in one robust workout. This gal could break through today in her second career Turf start. She should be close to the pace ready to move.
