Today is NCAA Basketball selection Sunday, but more importantly it is our Superfecta Sunday. On to Santa Anita for the Santa Ana on the Turf.
Santa Anita Park Race 7 {Santa Ana~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}
A hotly contested field of eleven will hit the Turf in this featured stakes race. Lack of speed could make this race an interesting and most challenging effort. Speed numbers over the Turf and at the distance reflect parity. Our task is to mold a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#4 Diversy Harbor (Stevens / Proctor) should be the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a seven race progression, and two solid peaking workouts. She absolutely loves the Santa Anita Turf course displaying a 100% in the money record from eight starts. Provided there is some pace up front, she is definitely the one to beat.
#3 Hoop of Colour (Van Dyke / Motion) should provide a reasonable pace on the front end as she makes her second North American start. This gal is 80% in the money over Turf in five career starts. She posts a decent last out winning speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two hearty peaking workouts. It is possible that she could wire the field. She is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.
#9 Indecise (Prat / Mandella) will be stretching out to this distance after posting the second highest speed number in a downhill Turf effort. She is working a three race progression and has put in three endurance producing workouts. This gal should track the leaders closely and strike in the stretch.
#11 Lady of Gold (Desormeaux / Motion) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer Turf route, a two race progression, and three sturdy workouts. She should be tracking and closing efficiently.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
#4 Diversy Harbor + #3 Hoop of Colour + #9 Indecise + #11 Lady of Gold.
