Furlong Friday at Keeneland Opener

Keeneland opens its Fall meet today. We take a look at a competitive sprint on the dirt.

Keeneland Race 7 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance Optional Claiming}

A great crop of twelve will hit the dirt in this allowance sprint. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to insure a fast pace. Speed numbers are relatively close making for a strong contest. These girls are coming in from many of the premiere tracks in the East and Midwest. It should be a terrific event.

#3 House of Sole (Esquivel / Bruggemann) might have the edge with her tactical speed. She holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and has put in one efficient workout. This gal is 100% in the money from her seven career starts which adds to her luster. She also holds the highest speed number at the distance.

#10 Enchantress (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four robust workouts. She holds the second highest speed number at this distance. This lady should be forwardly placed ready to strike.

#4 Meshell (Geroux / Lynn) will contend with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid workout. She is another that should be forwardly placed ready to swoop through the stretch. This gal does have a win over the Keeneland track.

#11 Street Song (Landeros / Wilkes) could surprise with the third highest last out speed number in a graded stakes appearance, a two race progression, and two tremendous workouts. She will track a potentially heated pace which should benefit her kick greatly.

Meadowlands R1.  Beaten Claiming. Our change of venue was an effort in futility as our top pick, On a Star, was scratched along with one other. Therefore, we scuttled our 10 CENT Superfecta play.
Superfecta went 3-10-5-6.
