On to Santa Anita for our Superfecta Sunday. Races have been moved off the Turf there. We will look at a nice route race.
Santa Anita Park Race 4 {1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~CA~Maiden Special Weight}
A hungry bunch of nine will go to the gate in this afternoon feature. There is enough speed to create a comfortable pace. Speed numbers are relatively close and improving. It is a quality race to handicap and wager. Our task is to sew together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#8 At Ease (Maldonado / Black) could have the edge as he takes up a close tracking position. He shares the second highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in the best workout tab of four peaking works. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.
#6 Heat (Pereira / Abrams) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two solid workouts. He is another that should track the pace and strike going into the stretch.
#2 Nooten (Pedroza / Chew) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in two athletic workouts. He too will be tracking the pace leaders.
#1 Pyrotechnics (F. Perez / Hendricks) could do well as he stretches out to this distance. He last two efforts were o.k., but improving. This guy is working a four race progression which might indicate he is getting the hang of it after nineteen starts. He has put in three stout workouts.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
#8 At Ease + #6 Heat + #2 Nooten + #1 Pyrotechnics.
