On we go into Superfecta Sunday. Today we take a look at downhill Turf action at magnificent Santa Anita.
Santa Anita Park Race 5 {Senator Ken Maddy~G3~6 1/2 furlongs~downhill Turf~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Graded Stakes}
A talented group of eight will go to the gate in this graded stakes. There is an abundance of speed which may benefit those coming from off the pace. Speed numbers are very, very close. It should be a highly competitive event. Our task is to shoe a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#1 Chatis On Top (Gonzalez / Puype) might have a minor edge with the highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This lass is 100% in the money at the distance from four tries. She will be closing swiftly with a wicked pace.
#7 Theatre Star (Van Dyke / Proctor) has the tactical speed to stay the course. She shares the highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in four robust workouts. She exits a Kentucky Downs contest at the same distance.
#3 Kool Kat (Graham / Cassidy) will challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number from a six furlong sprint at Kentucky Downs. She also is working a two race progression, and has put in one stout workout. This gal enjoys the Santa Anita course with her tracking/closing running style. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.
#5 Spirit of Xian [IRE] (Talamo / Mandella) should contend sharing the highest speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in one fierce workout. She is 100% in the money at the distance and over the Santa Anita course. This gal will be part of the forwardly placed contingent.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
