Another Superfecta Sunday rolls up on us as we take in the warm Florida sun.
Gulfstream Park Race 10 {1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Maiden Special Weight}
An improving group of seven gals will go to the dirt in this late card event. There is a little bit of speed which should bring a honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making for a challenging handicapping event. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#5 Gold Medalist (Jaramillo / Nevin) is coming off a modest layoff after competing in the tough New York circuit. She posts a couple of decent speed numbers in her two career starts and has put in four strong peaking workouts in preparation of returning to racing. Her conditioner, Michelle Nevin, is solid with layoff horses. She stretches out for this race and should track the pace strategically. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.
#1 Privy Council (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will go off as the odds on favorite with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three sensational workouts clearly making her the one to beat. She stretches out for this one with her pressing style.
#3 Try Your Luck (Lezcano / Maker) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts. She has hit the board in all three of her career starts. This gal should be tracking the pace closely ready to spring forward into the stretch.
#8 La Canella (Leparoux / Lynch) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sound workouts. She enjoys the Gulfstream track and should be closing fast over it.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
#5 Gold Medalist + #1 Privy Council + #3 Try Your Luck + #8 La Canela.
