Del Mar Race 7 {San Clemente~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}
A great group of ten gals will hit the Turf in this annual affair. There is a sufficient amount of speed and forwardly placed types to get the pace rolling. Speed numbers are very, very close making for an extraordinarily competitive event. Any one of these young fillies could win this one. It should be one of the many exciting races on the day.
#10 Stays in Vegas (Solis / Hollendorfer) looks to have a slight edge with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This gal has three victories from three starts at this distance. This will be her first foray over the Del Mar Turf. A daughter of City Zip, she should be traveling close to the pace ready to spring forward.
$2 WIN / $3 PLACE / #4 SHOW.
#3 Be Mine (Prat / D'Amato) should pose a serious challenge sharing that second highest last out speed number, working a four race progression, and three terrific workouts. This filly is 100% in the money at this distance as well as overall. A daughter of Twirling Candy, she has the tactical speed to feel the pace out and launch into the stretch.
$2 PLACE / #3 SHOW.
#1 Belvoir Bay [GB] (Geroux / Miller) is coming off a comfortable layoff, but should be ready to compete in this graded event. She holds the highest speed number at the distance and has put in five fantastic peaking workouts. This girl loves the turf and the distance. A daughter of Equiano [FR], she should be forwardly placed ready to rock.
$2 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#5 Jade Princess (Espinoza / Baffert) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in four robust workouts. She should join the crowd near the frontend. This gal is coming into form and should put up a strong effort. A daughter of Tapit, she shares the second highest speed number at the distance.
