Woodbine Race 9 {Pattison Canadian International~G1~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}
A superior group of nine equine athletes will take to the Canadian green seeking a portion of the million dollar purse. There is only a bit of speed to keep the pace rolling. Consequently, a Euro quickening might be the race style that comes into play. A number of Euro invaders will be taking up the challenge. It should be one of the most exciting races of the horse racing weekend. Our task is to knit together a winning 20 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#3 Idaho [IRE] (Moore / O'Brien) might go off as the favorite with the best in the money record of 75% from eight starts. He appreciates this distance running at it in both Ireland and Great Britain. He comes off of a longer route, last out and should be tracking the pace closely ready to strike in the stretch.
#5 Dartmouth [GB] (Buick / Stoute) should challenge as he appears to be in very good form. Another Euro invader, he holds the second best in the money record of 71% from fourteen starts. This guy loves the distance and enjoys the turf. He has been running extremely well back in his native Great Britain. This lad is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$3 SHOW.
#9 Protectionist [GER] (Atzeni / Wohler) has posted three wins in a row racing in Germany. This millionaire has already scored three victories from six tries at this distance. He holds eight wins, second best among this lot. An overall 57% in the money record from twenty-one starts, adds to his cause.
#2 World Approval (Leparoux / Casse) should contend with the highest (three-way tie) North American last out speed fig, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. He holds a 70% overall in the money record. This lad could be the best North American hope to break a potential Euro invader sweep of this event.
20 CENT Superfecta Box ($4.80)
#3 Idaho [IRE] + #5 Dartmouth [GB] + #9 Protectionist [GER] + #2 World Approval.
