Gulfstream Park Race 1 {5 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old~Maiden Claiming}
A good group of eight will take to the green in this first on the card event. There is speed to insure a strong pace. Two first time starters will make their presence know, both with good Turf pedigree. Speed numbers of the remaining are all fairly close, three of which will making their first start over the Turf surface. Most Maiden Claiming races are difficult to handicap and this one is no exception. Lots to like about all of the entrants in this one.
#6 Dynamic Dancer (Leparoux / Biancone) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two powerful bullet workouts. This guy loves the surface, the distance, and the course. He should be forwardly placed and take off into the stretch.
$1 WIN.
#5 Strong Breeze (Lanerie / Kenneally) is making his first start with a couple of good workouts in preparation. Strong connections should get this guy in good position to grab a piece of the purse pie. This son of Mizzen Mast should have an affinity for the Turf.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#8 Stone Heart (J. Velazquez / Sano) should challenge as he exits a tougher dirt sprint. He will be making his first start over the grass. This lad holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts. Expect him to track the pace closely and launch into the stretch.
#3 Gray Ransom (Gaffalione / Blair) should contend with a couple of decent last out speed numbers over the dirt. He should be the speed of the race and could take all of these all the way around the course. He appears rested and ready having put in two solid workouts prepping for this one.
10 CENT Superfecta
#6 Dynamic Dancer / #5 Strong Breeze / #8 Stone Heart, #3 Gray Ransom / ALL.
