Kentucky Downs Race 9 {Ramsey Farm Stakes~1 5/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}
A talented group of nine will hit the Turf in this feature race. It comes up a little short on speed which should make for a nice quickening as it nears the end. Speed figures on the other hand are fairly close. It should be a great race to kick off our Horse Racing Weekend.
#11 La Piba (Geroux / B. Cox) looks ready for the stretch out with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three superb workouts. This gal should do fine in her first run over the unique Kentucky Downs course.
$2 SHOW.
#6 Queen Blossom [IRE] (Lynch / Motion) should move forward as she tackles this course. She holds a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three sturdy workouts. This gal should be part of the tracking crew.
$2 SHOW.
#4 Kitten's Roar (J. Ortiz / Maker) is much the horse to beat with the highest last out speed number in a Grade One affair, a four race progression, and three stout workouts. This gal is proven over this course by virtue of a win in her only effort over it. She should be reasonably close to the pace waiting to strike in the stretch.
#2 Tricky Escape (DeCarlo / Ashby) looks ready to give it her best with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one good workout. She is an impressive 81% in the money from eleven career starts. Another tracker looking for position.
