Today we take in a superb Stakes race up in Canada.
Woodbine Race 8 {Belle Mahone Stakes~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}
A real nice group of eight gals will to to the gate in this feature race. There is enough speed to put forth a demanding pace over the Tapeta surface. Speed numbers are very close among this group. Our task is to weave a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be an excellent race.
#1 My Arch Enemy (Boulanger / Casse) looks primed to perform on the front end of this race. She holds a couple of good last out speed figs and two high quality workouts. This gal holds the second highest speed number at the distance. A daughter of Arch, she loves the Woodbine track having been in the money 88% of the time.
#5 Superiority Complex [IRE] (Contreras / Stidham) should challenge with the highest last out speed number and two hearty peaking workouts. She comes up from Arlington Park after having raced over in Great Britain. A daughter of Hard Spun, she has hit the board in her last three. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.
#2 Gamble's Ghost (DaSilva / J. Carroll) should go off as the favorite after winning her last two races. She holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in four robust workouts. This daughter of Ghostzapper is an amazing 92% in the money over the Woodbine track from thirteen starts. Definitely the one to beat as she will come a running heading into the stretch.
#6 Mexican Hat (Wilson / Day Phillips) should contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers and three strong workouts. She should track close to the pace ready to spring into the stretch. She loves this distance and the Woodbine track. A daughter of Street Cry [IRE], she is 100% in the money over synthetic from five races.
