Om this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at the "lucky last" at the "Great Race Place".
Santa Anita Park Race 9 {6 1/2 Furlongs~downhill TURF~3 year-old Up~Allowance Optional Claiming}
This could be any horse's race as all have decent experience on Santa Anita's unique down hill Turf course. There is speed o plenty in this last race on the card. Speed numbers are also very close making it quite the competitive race. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a terrific race to cap off another horse racing weekend.
#3 Brandonthebartender (Talamo / Dollase) should be in very strong position should the pace boil over. He holds the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and four superb peaking workouts. This lad also shares the second highest speed number over the downhill course. A son of Tribal Rule, he should track and close well. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.
#5 Eric the Trojan (Prat / Carava) will challenge from off the pace. He holds the second highest last out speed number and four hearty workouts. This guy appears in great form and leads this field with five wins. A son of More Than Ready, he close down this group in the final strides.
#7 Calexman (G. Franco / Cerin) could go off as the deserved favorite with a couple of very good last out speed numbers and three strengthening workouts. This son of Midshipman loves the Turf and the downhill Turf course. He has been in the money in all five starts over Turf.
#9 Afleet Ascent (Desormeaux / Hollendorfer) has the opportunity to wire this field with the highest last out speed number at a route distance and four supreme workouts. He loves the Turf and the Santa Anita course. A son of Northern Afleet, is comes out of a strong second place effort in a stakes event.
