A talented field of nine will enter the gate in this annual Derby.  There is a fair amount of speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are comparable.  There are three millionaires in this field which makes it a significant event. A great race should unfold.

Furlong Friday at Arlington

We celebrate our Furlong Friday at grand Arlington International. Hopefully we get this first race in before the deluge rains down.

Arlington International Race 1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Maiden Claiming}

With some scratches already made, the field is reduced to six ladies. There is sufficient speed to move the pace forward. Speed made be a strong factor in this one with the rains the area had last night. The precipitation ends to tighten up the polytrack thereby favoring the front runners as they stride over the track. It should be a good start to the card.

#1 Sweet Lucy Too (Lermyte / Swearingen) should be favored with the third highest last out speed number and one diligent workout. This gal appears to be in fine form.  She sports the best in the money record of 80% from five starts. Expect her to sit fight off the pace and pounce in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#7 Due to Grace (Rengito / M. Perez) will challenge with the highest last out speed number and a three race progression. She can show speed or take up a tracking position depending on what develops on the front end.

#5 Jera's Jade (Santiago / Medina) may surprise with a couple of reasonable last out speed numbers.  She is dropping in from a Maiden Special Weight race and in distance. Look for her to track and strike in the stretch.

#3 Princess T Party (Beibly / Hellman) comes in from Fairmount Park on the Illinois side of the Saint Louis area. Two races back she ran a splendid speed number over the Turf course here at Arlington. She should be part of the closing party heading for home.

10 CENT Superfecta

#1 Sweet Lucy Too  /  #7 Due to Grace  /  #5 Jera's Jade  /  #3 Princess T Party.
