Today we look at two great stakes races in the sunny climes of Florida and California.
Gulfstream Park Race 9 {Hal's Hope~G3~1 mile~4 year old Up~Stakes}
A talented compact field of seven will make the start in this annual stakes race. Rule (Castellano / Pletcher) looks like the one to beat despite coming off an extensive layoff. He has two wins for two races at the distance and four fantastic workouts in preparation. Soaring Empire (Lezcano / Gambolati) will challenge with the highest last out speed number and three superb workouts. Morning Line (J. Velazquez / Zito) will also challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and three stellar, peaking workouts. Caixa Electronica (Saez / Chapparro) will be in the mix with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and one strong workout. Let's play beautiful Gulfstream Park.

Santa Anita Race 7 {San Pasqual~G2~1 1/16 mile~4 year old Up~Stakes}

He will be the controlling speed in the race. Spurrier (Bejarano / Baffert) will be the chief challenger with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three robust workouts. Dakota Phone (Rosario / Hollendorfer) will be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and three athletic workers. Quindici Man (Valenzuela / Lewis) is a consistent sort that will be in there for a piece of the purse with the fourth highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one sinewy workout.
