Thursday as Turfday is always nice. Today we take a gander at what could be a wild TURF race at Hollywood Park, for the start of our horse racing weekend.
Hollywood Park Race 5 {6 furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~Maiden Special Weight}
This could be a wild Turf sprint on the Hollywood course. There are three first time starts and a number with extensive layoffs seeking to grap their first victory. The pace could be swift with a number of speedsters in the race.
#3 Global Domination (Talamo / Headley) should be able to gain a tracking victory with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superb, peaking workouts. Probably will go off as the favorite.
$2 SHOW.
#2 Full Instinct (Gomez / Ascanio) has been off since January of this year, but looks ready to run well with a senstional, peaking workout tab of four works. He does hold the fourth highest overall speed number.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#7 Mary Helen's Storm (Bejarano / Koriner) is an intriguing first time starter with a stellar workout tab of four speedy, peaking workouts. This guy could be the surprise.
#8 Baron Von Red (Sutherland / Sadler) will be transitioning from synthetic to Turf. He shows a decent last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and four strong, peaking workouts. Another one that could put in a suprisingly good effort.
#1 Rock Off (Rosario / Canani) has to be considered with the second highest last our speed number, a two race progression, and two sincere workouts. Will be closing hard in the stretch.
