A Little Gulfstream in the Afternoon

We open our horse racing weekend with a pleasant allowance race at splendid Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park Race 9 {1 1/8 mile~4 year old Up~Allowance}
A fabulous field of ten will make their way to the gate for the start of this long route on the dirt.  A cloudy day with some rain showers is forcast which will add another layer to the handicapping effort.

#7 Self Control (Castellano / C. Brown) appears ready to tackle this field as the favorite.  He holds the highest (tie) last out speed number, a six race progression, and three superb, peaking workouts.  Clearly the one to beat.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#9 E.H. Indy (Cruz / Penna) will challenge sharing the highest last out speed number, holding a three race progression, and putting in four robust workouts.  He could track and close his way to victory.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#10 Devon Rock (Trujillo / Wolfson) will be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number coming off a longer Turf route, a two race progression, and two athletic workouts.  This guy should be able to close well through the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Believe In A.P. (Saez / R. Dutrow) will be coming off a lengthy layoff, but looks well prepped with five superior, peaking workouts.  She is the only filly in the contest and should press decently for a piece.

#8 Bombaguia (Bravo / Kimmel) should compete well at this distance with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one modest workout.  He could be close enough to the pace to make a good run in the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta

#7 Self Control / #9 E.H. Indy / #10 Devon Rock / #3 Believe In A.P., #8 Bombaguia.

Last Superfecta Sunday (3/4) Results
Aqueduct R7.  Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Saxophone Len, finished third for show money of $3.30.
We just missed on the 10 CENT Superfecta Box with three of the four.  Superfecta went 7-10-6-3.
Bankroll dips to $19.80.
