A magnificent Stakes Saturday for a Turf contest in South Florida. We go to beautiful Gulfstream Park for some fabulous turf action.
Gulfstream Park R9 {El Prado~1 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A huge field of fourteen is expected to go to the grass for this highly competitive contest. There is a great amount of speed which should make for a furious pace. With a crowded field those close and well positioned to the pace could prevail.
#5 Salto [IRE] (Castellano / Pletcher) could get it done with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a five race progression, improving with every race since setting his hooves in America, and two sufficient workouts. He should be close ready to fire.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.
#14 Nikki's Sandcastle (Lanerie / Kassen) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and three solid workouts. This guy will stay close and pounce in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.
#13 Hollinger (Lezcano / Attfield) looks well prepped to be a contender with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three stellar peaking workouts. He should have an advantage by tracking the pace and then moving swiftly through the stretch.
$1 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#1 Bad Debt (Carmouche / Trombetta) could surprise using some tactical speed to great advantage. He has the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. This guy has a enviable 90% in the money record at the distance in ten races.
