On this Stakes Saturday, we take a look at a very contentious Turf route.
Belmont Park Race 8 {New York~G2~1 1/4 mile~ inner TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
An exceptionally talented field of eight fillies and mares will take to the grass in this annual race. There is enough speed to keep the pace honest allowing for any running style to be triumphant. It is interesting to note that five in field are coming out of an excellent running of the Sheephead Bay run on May 25th at Belmont. The New York should be a great race.
#4 Tannery (Saez / Goldberg) has a slight edge with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and one terrific workout. She will be tracking the pace and launch into the stretch. She also holds the second highest speed number at this distance.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.
#8 Lady of Shamrock (Maragh / Sadler) is a California invader that should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers and three stout workouts. She is exiting a grade one race at Betfair Hollywood Park and has one at this distance twice in three tries. This gal will be closing fast.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.
#7 Dream Peace (Rosario / C. Brown) is another that should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers and three hearty workouts. This gal also holds the third highest (tie) speed number at the distance. A lover of the Belmont course she should be tracking and closing swiftly.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#5 Minakshi (Castellano / Matz) should be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number and three strong peaking workouts. She has a versatile running style that could be forwardly placed in an effort to press the pace and swoop into the lane. This gal holds the highest speed number at the distance.
#2 Anjaz (I. Ortiz / Albertrani) should be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and two robust workouts. This gal has run well at Belmont securing the second highest speed number. She should be running late.
10 CENT Superfecta
#4 Tannery / #8 Lady of Shamrock / #7 Dream Peace / #5 Minakshi, #2 Anjaz.
