It is Superfecta Sunday already. Today we look at a competitive Turf sprint down in New Orleans.
Fair Grounds Race 8 {5 1/2 furlongs~TURF~4 year-old Up~Optional Claimer}
A real nice crew of nine will take to the grass in this featured Turf sprint. the speed numbers are very close making this a contentious race. There is enough speed signed on to make a significant spark in pace. Our task is try to blend together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
#9 Forest Elf (Graham / Stidham) might have the edge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two gracious workouts. This lad has the ability to sit right off the pace and enter the stretch with flourish. He has a terrific 87% in the money record at this distance from eight starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.
#5 Reflector (Mena / Devereaux) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and a dynamite 100% in the money record at the distance, from three starts. He is a consistent sort that appears to be in good form.
#7 Basmati (Albarado / Asmussen) should contend with the highest last out speed number at a longer sprint, a two race progression, and one solid workout. He is the class of this group and will be dropping such for this one.
#1 Candip (Theriot / Calhoun) could surprise as he makes his second Turf start. This guy is coming off two wins over the Fair Grounds dirt. He may lead the speed contingent with the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and two robust workouts.
10 CENT Superfecta
#9 Forest Elf + #5 Reflector + #7 Basmati + #1 Candip.
