It is Preakness week. Today we take in a splendid downhill Turf contest in sunny Southern California.
Santa Anita Race 6 {6 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A great group of ten will truck up the hill for the start of this event. There is enough speed to keep the pace rolling. These lads all have reasonably close speed numbers which should make the race quite competitive. Another good race should unfold.
#10 Eddie's First (Trujillo / Treece) might have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three furious workouts. This guy also holds the highest speed number at this downhill distance. He should be forwardly placed.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.
#6 Cautious Giant (T. Baze / Gaines) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superbly swift workouts. He appears to be in great form for his first downhill attempt. This lad should be tracking the pace ready to spring into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#2 Husband's Folly (Nakatani / Holendorfer) should contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four hearty workouts. He is coming off approximately ninety day rest.
