We look at a nice sprint across the border for our Furlong Friday.
Woodbine Race 9 {5 1/2 Furlongs~3 year old Up~Claiming}
A field of six will go to the gate after four defections. There is enough speed in this one to create a very fast pace. A couple are coming off extended layoffs with superb workouts. The speed fig for all of these lads a very close. It should be a speedy, exciting race.
#6 Bear's Romeo (Pizarro / Desruisseaux) is making his third start of the year with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and one sound workout. He could be the leader and hold off all challengers.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#8 Jenna's Wabbit (Mareno / Biamonte) is coming off an extended layoff and will be making his first start this year. He holds the second highest last out speed number and has put four fantastic workouts, including two bullets. This lad will be tracking the pace and should have enough of it to swoop valiantly into the stretch.
#1 Ruvee (Moran / Huarte) should contend with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and one robust workout. He is another that should track the pace and strike in the stretch.
#3 Lunar Light (Contreras / Buttigieg) should figure prominently with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts. This guy should be close to the pace seeking an opening to push through.
20 CENT Superfecta
Yes, this is Woodbine's minimum.
#6 Bear's Romeo / #8 Jenna's Wabbit / #1 Ruvee / #3 Lunar Light.
