Going Downhill for Furlong Friday

On this Furlong Friday, we take in a nice downhill Turf race with the San Gabriel Mountains at the backdrop.

Santa Anita Park Race 8 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year-old Up~Maiden Special Weight}

A wonderful collection of ten will journey up the hill and launch on down in an attempt win their first race. There is ample speed to insure an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. There are a couple of first time starters and a number with extended layoffs. It should be a highly competitive race.

#1 Clickjab (Van Dyke / Puype) could have the advantage with the second highest last out speed number and four superlative workouts. He holds the second highest speed number on the downhill run. Coming off a longer layoff out of a more competitive maiden race, he should be ready to run well from a tracking position
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 True Image (D Lopez / Machowsky) is coming off an extended layoff with a stout four workout tab. Prior to the layoff he posted the third highest speed number down the hill. He holds the best in the money record at 60% of this group. This guy should be forwardly placed.

#3 Caldera (M. Garcia  / Jacobson) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number at a route and four robust peaking workouts. This lad is another that should be tracking the pace ready to strike at the top of the stretch. This will be his first attempt down the hill.

#6 Lord of Chaos (Talamo / Koriner) is a first time starter that has put in a tremendously speedy workout tab of four longer works. A son of Temple City, this lad should be in the mix over the green. Solid Jockey / Trainer stats give him a reasonable chance to score.
