Stakes Saturday on the Florida Turf

We take in a very competitive Turf race in warm Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 12 {Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap~G1~1 1/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up}

A very talented group of eight will take to the grass in this graded stakes race. There are a few in here that could be forwarded placed setting the pace. Speed numbers for most are fairly close particularly over the Turf and at the distance. It should be a very exciting race.

#6 The Pizza Man (Castellano / Bruggemann) appears to embarking on another fantastic season off a brief layoff.  He holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route and two robust workouts. It helps this millionaires cause having the top jockey in North America on board. This son of English Channel has an amazing tactical running style capable of fitting into any pace.

#1Lukes Alley (P. Lopez  /  J. Carroll) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts. He holds the highest in the money record at 84%. This son of Flower Alley should be tracking the pace.

#7 Takeover Target (I. Ortiz  / C. Brown) should contend with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and two strong workouts. He is proficient at this distance and likes the Gulfstream course. A son of Harlan's Holiday, he should also be tracking the pace.

Another Wagering Interest

#3 Triple Threat [FR] (Lezcano / Mott) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route, a three race progression, and four superb workouts. This lad holds the second highest speed number at the distance hitting the board twice from two tries. A son of Monsum [GER], he is another that should be tracking the pace closely.
