Stakes Saturday on the Green in Tampa

Thank goodness it is Stakes Saturday and we are on the Turf in the Florida sunshine.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 10 {Tampa Bay~G3~1 1/16 miles~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A terrific group of ten will take to the green in this annual event. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace humming along. Speed numbers are very close making for an highly competitive race. This could be the best on today's card.

#1 War Correspondent (J. Velazquez / Clement) should be ready to do battle with the highest last out speed number and two robust workouts. This lad should sit right off the pace ready to strike in the stretch. He has an 88% in the money record from nine starts. A son of War Front, he coming out of a higher caliber graded stakes race.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#12 Solemn Tribute (Leparoux / Lynch) will challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, an impressive six race progression, and three hearty workouts. He loves the surface and the distance. A son of Medaglia d'Oro, he should be forwardly placed.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#7 Reload (Castellano / McGaughey) will contend with the fourth highest last out speed number and four superb peaking workouts. He is another that loves the surface and is tremendously adept at the distance. This son of Hard Spun, has the tactical speed to blend into the pace as it develops.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Sky Captain (Gallardo / Casse) should be able to take another step forward after a reasonable layoff.  He shares the second highest speed number over the Turf and has put in four powerful workouts prepping for this race. A son of Sky Mesa, he should be tracking the pace closely.

#3 A Lot (Lezcano / Mott) should be in the mix sharing the second highest last out speed number, holding a three race progression, and putting in four stout workouts. He is one of three that have maintained a 100% in the money record at this distance. This son of Tapit is another that should track the pace closely looking for an opening.

Superfecta went 4-9-5-3.
Bankroll gains a few dimes to settle at $20.61.
