Gulfstream Park Race 10 {1 1/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}
A great field of eight will go to the gate in this stakes caliber optional claimer. It comes up a bit light on speed, but it appears others could step up to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are very close for this group of quality Turfers. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.
#2 Black Sea [FR] (Castellano / C. Brown) might be best positioned to take this race. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sound workouts. He is 72% in the money from eighteen career starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.
#4 Lucallan (I. Ortiz / McLaughlin) could go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a six race progression, and four strong workouts. This guy loves the Turf and the distance. He is 83% in the money from six starts.
#5 Classic Covey (J. Lezcano / Mott) should take another step forward as he stretches out to this distance. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two hearty workouts. This lad should be closing swiftly heading into the stretch.
#8 Rocketry (J. Ortiz / Jerkens) should contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three superb peaking workouts. He enjoys the Turf and has done well over the Gulfstream Park course. He is another closer that should strike in the stretch.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
